We regularly talk to entrepreneurs about their formula for success. We test this against recent scientific findings. Have they done what science shows to be a success method? Today we speak to Bart Snijders, founder of Sprints & Sneakers. Sprints & Sneakers is a b.corp certified growth hacking agency. What that means, of course, we'll hear later. Last year he was the fastest growing company in the West Netherlands according to the FD gazelles. He grew from 6 to 50 employees during Covid. Uses Grant Cardones 10x rule and puts the same ambition he has for clients into his own company.
Top sport
Bart truly considers entrepreneurship a top sport. Together with his team, he would prefer to become world champion in his industry. "We want to be the best and the biggest in what we do. But above all to create the most value. Often value is seen as something that can be measured in money, but we believe that besides money it should also be about the world and people."
But how do you, as an entrepreneur, make sure that you and your team become world champions? One of the most important things if you want to perform as a leader is to take good care of yourself, and Bart does just that! "In the airplane they don't say for nothing put on your own oxygen mask first before helping another. I take taking care of yourself very seriously. I have a ring that keeps track of the dates of my sleep. I have dna at home where I can see what food I take best for top performance and I have invested physically, emotionally and spiritually."
World Champion
In addition to taking good care of himself, Bart pays a lot of attention to the team. He sees himself as a coach and therefore works with a cell structure. In a diagram, he would never put himself above the rest, but stands beside his employees. Still, he does not believe in a self-managing team.
