Marjolein Bongers sees a lot in using your employees as social media ambassadors, and that can really work! Marjolein is a guest on this episode of the Work Professor today to talk about that.
Marjolein wrote the book LinkedIn Power, making it into the top 10 best-selling management books in 2020. An impressive achievement. In addition, Marjolein is founder of House of Social media, helping companies in their social media strategy. Work with the early adopters
That companies don't pay attention to the right things may not come as much of a surprise. Marjolein thinks you have to start with a small group. "Pick a few ambassadors and teach those people how it works, the rest will follow naturally, that way I have really already seen a small club become very big in many companies" said Marjolein. In the podcast she elaborates on the steps to take with this group of early adopters.

We think that sharing and liking your organization's posts is the way to reach your audience, but unfortunately, "we can really leave out that indiscriminate sharing, looking at LinkedIn's algorithm you really get very little reach with that" explains Marjolein. Ask your group of ambassadors if they would like to spread the word about the organization, then let them create their own personal content about the company. Help them with this though, facilitate what your people like. If an employee asks if they can take a vlog training course and then make videos about your organization, be sure to do so!
