Jan-Willem Romeijn, professor of philosophy of science at the University of Groningen, explains how to optimally use knowledge present in a group. Fonger Ypma, CEO of brainbay, gives his practical experience. Every group has a goal, everyone has their own role, how do you really make use of all the knowledge in the group? Sharing knowledge and experience is crucial to remain competitive and to respond flexibly to what is going on with clients, employees and shareholders. Fortunately, we already know how best to organize that.

Jan-Willem Romeijn has the solution: present the challenge to the team around you. Test how it falls. Ask what the risks are and the chances of success. Ask people to put themselves in a different position. What would they think of it as a customer, as a shareholder, as a future generation? Experts are valuable, but if you ask many diverse people, the average opinion becomes truly reliable.
