Measuring how the people in your organisation are doing? People Analytics is the nice word for it, but how does it work? What should you measure and how exactly? That and more in this episode of the Work Professor with Sven Rickli.

Sven is an expert in corporate culture and behavioural change and has created a People Analytics checklist with his research and consultancy firm: is your company ready to start measuring effectively?

The person behind the personnel number

To know how your people, and therefore your company, are doing, you want to measure their well-being. But scientific research shows that in three quarters of the cases, the well-being and employability of employees is influenced by factors outside of work. You can find this out by looking at the so-called well-being factors, which are social, financial, emotional, physical and social well-being. Learn from Sven in the podcast how to deal with these factors, how to measure them but also what is and isn't legally allowed.

To measure is to know

We are now familiar with the corona dashboard, but what should we put on our own dashboards? Those graphs are nice, but what do they mean and are they reliable? According to Sven, the five well-being factors are half of the story, "the soft components". The other half of your dashboard should consist of somewhat harder components. Think about your turnover, your absenteeism or your sales targets. If you start looking for connections between those components, you will find the useful buttons to turn and you can use reflection to make your business better. Listen to the rest of the podcast to hear from Sven how you go from managing for the result to managing for the result, by working in a people-oriented way.
