"The phone just doesn't get picked up often enough anymore" gives Ronald as the biggest reason why sales is often difficult within companies. He is owner and founder of the Sales Academy and wrote the book street smart sales. One of the main things Ronald notices is that many sales people do not call enough. Even with big deals, many sales staff feel more like emailing, while calling is proven to be more effective and valued.
The pareto effect
The pareto effect is also valid within sales: 80% of the results are achieved by 20% of the employees. Successful sales employees are all characterized by a specific working method: extensive and detailed planning, if you want to sell something in a month you will have to start ten calls this week. That requires far-reaching and well thought-out planning.
